Permanently reopen to the public after the recent restoration, the Baths Stabiane and, for the first time, you can also visit the girls' section.
It is the city's oldest spa building (second century BC.), Built on a previous installation of the IV-III century BC. C Spa is divided into male and female and has a classic breakdown in frigidarium (room with bath for the cold bath), apodyterium (dressing room), tepidarium (warm room), caldarium (hot room to the bathroom) and furnaces (to produce heat).
Hall and the gym are preserved refined decoration in polychrome stucco, with figures and mythological 'fourth style'. The stucco, made of lime and calcite, was particularly suitable in these environments for its characteristic resistance to moisture. To the west of the gym was the central portico natatio (the outdoor pool).
Caring for the body was for the ancient Romans of paramount importance, but the baths represented above all an opportunity for social life.
